The swine flu outbreak has raised fresh uncertainty about the outlook for the beleaguered global aviation industry. Prior to this latest threat to industry stability, airline CEOs had become somewhat more optimistic regarding the outlook for profitability and traffic over the next 12 months, according to an IATA survey. And as tracked by The Centre, several CEOs had noted a bottoming of demand and the first signs of a recovery. But many others remain unconvinced. Air Berlin: new manager in Thailand
GERMANY : Air Berlin announced that, Stefan Magiera, is the Bangkok-based general manager running the activities of the Air Berlin Group (including LTU and Belair) in Thailand. In this newly created post, Magiera will report directly to Thorsten Scherzer, Divisional Director for Sales Management at Air Berlin. Stefan Magiera possesses extensive experience in the tourist industry. The companies for which he has worked for in the past includ Hapag-Lloyd Business Travel and Düsseldorf Airport, as well as Lufthansa and Lufthansa CityLine. From 2004 to 2006, Magiera was Head of Corporate Sales at Air Berlin and responsible for the corporate accounts sector. His most recent job was as Head of the sales team at Germanwings.
