Overview - Pegasus Airlines Pegasus Airlines was established in 1990 as a joint venture between Aer Lingus, Silkar Yatirim and Net Holding, with its head office located in Istanbul. It launched commercial operations in May-90, and has since grown from a fleet of two to 17 aircraft, predominantly B737-800s. Over the past 18 years, Pegasus has become a leading charter carrier in Turkey operating to 99 destinations in 17 countries. Pegasus also provides wet leasing to airlines in need of extra capacity, as well as cabin crew training, pilot training and technical training, in addition to maintenance services.
In Jan-05, ESAS Holding took control of Pegasus Airlines, with Ali Sabancı as Chairman and Sertaç Haybat as General Manager. The company was restructured and launched scheduled domestic services in Nov-05. The airline flies from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport to Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Gaziantep, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri, Malatya, Mardin, Samsun, Stuttgart, Trabzon and Cyprus.
