UNITED STATES OF AMERICA : Southwest Airlines announces (26-Mar-09) that the Company has reached a tentative agreement with the Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 556, representing more than 9,800 Southwest Flight Attendants. The tentative agreement is for a new, four-year contract through 31-May-2012. The current contract became amendable on 31-May-08. Southwest Airlines and the TWU 556 began contract negotiations in May-08.

New York-based JetBlue Airways Corporation commemorates (26-Mar-09) the launch of Orlando's only daily nonstop service to San Jose, Costa Rica's Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO), the carrier's first Central American destination and ninth country in its route network. Costa Ricans traveling through Orlando will also have seamless one-stop connections to New York's John F. Kennedy as well as Newark, New Jersey and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
