SkyEurope carries 279,816 passengers in April 2008 and takes delivery of its 15th brand new aircraft
SkyEurope reported it carried a total of 279,816 passengers in April 2008 with a load factor of 70.7%, down from April 2007 due to the seasonal effects of the busy Easter period (Q2 in 2007 vs Q1 in 2008) and a focus on maintaining yields despite a 9% capacity growth.

Measures were also taken in April to eliminate non-profitable flights amidst high fuel prices, resulting in reduced passenger numbers. In April, SkyEurope also launched its new Winter Schedule and took delivery of its 15th brand new Boeing B737-700 NG aircraft, continuing with the fleet development strategy focused on profitable growth. In the 12 months ended April 2008, the Company carried 3,698,879 passengers, an increase of 22.0% compared to the same period of last year.
