Iceland Express to commence London Gatwick-Reykjavik service
Iceland Express announced plans to commence scheduled service from London Gatwick to Reykjavik in Sep-08 after BA suspended its service during Northern Spring-08.

Iceland Express will offer the service five times weekly from 16-Sep-08.

“We have wanted to expand into Gatwick for some time and the decision by British Airways to suspend their services to Reykjavik earlier this year means that the time is now right to do so,” stated Birna Gudmundsdottir, Iceland Express Marketing Manager.

The UK is one of the most popular destinations for travelling Icelanders, both for visiting the country and for changing services in London. In addition, UK tourists make up the largest group of foreigners visiting Iceland.
