Cebu Pacific expects revenue to grow by 30%
XFN Asia) Cebu Pacific stated it expects to hurdle the difficult operating environment for airlines worldwide amid soaring jet fuel prices, and hopes to grow its revenue by at least 30% to PHP20 billion in 2008. Cebu Pacific, a unit of conglomerate JG Summit Holdings Inc, expects its passenger load to increase between 40% and 45% to 7 million in 2008 from 5 million in 2007.

The airline's net profit in 2007 increased to PHP3.61 billion, approximately 18 times its 2006 profit of PHP197 million, after expanding both its domestic and international routes to increase passenger load.

This year, Cebu Pacific will be spending USD300 million for the acquisition of four more turboprop aircraft from ATR and six Airbus A320 aircraft, bringing Cebu Pacific's fleet to 25 by the end of 2008.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s load factor this year has gone up to 83% from 80% in 2007.
