Iceland Express announce new Gatwick service to complement Stansted flights for Winter 2008
Iceland Express announced plans to commence a new Gatwick service, operating a five times weekly service between London Gatwick and Reykjavik from 16-Sep-08. The new Gatwick service will complement Iceland Express’ Stansted Winter 2008 Schedule, which includes a daily service between London Stansted and Reykjavik. Iceland Express will be operating the new Gatwick service on the Boeing 737- 700 aircraft with 148 seats of sister company, FlyStar/Astraeus.

Marketing Manager, Birna Guπmundsdσttir, said " We have wanted to expand into Gatwick for some time and the decision by British Airways to suspend their services to Reykjavik earlier this year means that the time is now right to do so. As with our Stansted service, we are looking for a mix of both business and leisure passengers who book directly through our award winning web site plus those who prefer to use either a travel agent or a Tour Operator.”

Since the first flight five years ago, Iceland Express' European destinations have increased from two to fourteen and in addition to operating from Keflavik Airport, the airline now operates flights from Akureyri and Egilsstaπir to Copenhagen during the Summer months.

Iceland Express' destinations this Summer include Copenhagen, London, Alicante, Basel, Berlin, Billund, Eindhoven, Frankfurt Hahn, Friedrichshafen, Gothenborg, Paris, Stockholm, Barcelona and Warsaw.
