Skymark Airlines announced traffic results for FY07, with total passenger numbers up by 26% to 3.68 million from 2.91 million the year before. Load factor rose significantly from 63.7% to 77.2%, indicating that the airline has recovered from a fall in traffic which started from March 2006 when Skymark’s safety structure was questioned after a series of maintenance irregularities. The results also indicate that Skymark’s low pricing strategy has been generally successful.
Meanwhile, in FY2006 Skymark reported an ordinary loss of JPY4.9 billion for the year, but the company expects an ordinary profit of JPY2.8 billion in FY2007.
