Allegiant Air continues service from Triad
Allegiant Air announced the continuation of its non-stop jet service from Piedmont Triad to Orlando and Tampa Bay and the return of its flights to Fort Lauderdale. The abrupt cessation of service by Skybus Airlines last week caused Allegiant Air to reconsider its previously announced decision to withdraw from Piedmont Triad International Airport as of 31-May-08.

Allegiant Vice President of Planning, Robert Ashcroft, said "The presence of Skybus was a destabilising factor for us at Piedmont Triad and a significant factor behind our original decision to withdraw."

The low cost carrier will celebrate the continuation of its Piedmont Triad service with introductory fares from USD39 one-way to Orlando and Tampa Bay and USD49 one-way to Fort Lauderdale.

The Orlando service will operate four days a week, while the Tampa Bay service will operate two days a week, both commencing on 01-Jun-08.

Flights to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport will resume on 02-Jun-08 with a two times weekly service.
