Skybus Airlines files for bankruptcy, discontinues operations
Skybus Airlines announced it discontinued all operations on 05-Apr-08, and that it will file for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 on 07-Apr-08.

Passengers holding reservations on Skybus flights are advised to contact their credit card companies for information on how to obtain refunds for purchased Skybus tickets.

Skybus CEO, Michael Hodge, said “Skybus struggled to overcome the combination of rising jet fuel costs and a slowing economic environment. These two issues proved to be insurmountable for a new carrier.”

Skybus began operating on 22-May-07, and at the time it ceased flying was operating 11 aircraft, making 80 daily flights to 15 cities around the United States.
