Cebu Pacific and SIA Engineering establishes JV MRO in Clark Airport
Cebu Pacific (CEB) and SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) announced plans to establish a JV MRO facility in Clark International Airport. This JV will result in the construction of three hangars in Clark Airport over three years, which will provide heavy and light maintenance checks to Cebu Pacific and other international airlines.

Prior to this, MRO services were completed in the SIAEC facilities in Singapore.

CEB President and CEO, Lance Gokongwei, said “By the end of 2008, our fleet will increase from 18 to 25 aircraft and more brand new Airbus and ATRs are expected to arrive… having a heavy maintenance facility practically outside our doorstep will greatly improve our operating efficiencies.”

SIAEC will have a 65% stake in the new venture while CEB will hold the remaining 35% share. The initial investment capital for the construction of the three hangars, purchase of tools and equipment, and working capital is estimated to be SGD81 million.

The first joint venture between CEB and SIAEC was forged in 2004 for line and light maintenace of CEB’s fleet.
