Air Berlin cuts 2008 EBIT forecast to EUR73-120 million from EUR140-160 million

(XFN Asia) Air Berlin PLC has cut its full year 2008 EBIT forecast to EUR73-120 million from the EUR140-160 million range it announced in Nov-07. Air Berlin stated the downward revision is due to the more than EUR10 million it now estimates as start-up costs of its new long-haul services to China.

 

In 2007, EBIT fell to EUR21.4 million from EUR64.1 million as a result of the integration of LTU airline, while sales rose by 61% to EUR2.54 billion. Net profit fell to EUR21 million from EUR40.1 million.
