Bombardier confirms Q400 customer as being Air Berlin
Bombardier Aerospace confirmed that a firm order from a European carrier for ten Q400 turboprop aircraft plus ten options, announced on 23-Oct-007, was placed by Air Berlin PLC. Air Berlin had requested to remain unidentified at the time of the announcement. The value of Air Berlin’s firm order contract is estimated to be USD267 million. If all options are exercised, the contract value could rise to USD540 million.

Air Berlin CEO, Joachim Hunold, said “We will be deploying our Q400 aircraft on routes that do not require the seating capacity of our jet aircraft”.
