SkyEurope carries 254,609 passengers in Feb-08, up 25.5%

SkyEurope Airlines stated it has carried a total of 254,609 passengers in Feb-08, an increase of 25.5% year-on-year. SkyEurope recorded a lower load factor of 67.2% due to a 59.4% increase in seat capacity compared to Feb-07 and a focus on continuous yield growth.

 

SkyEurope CEO, Jason Bitter, said “Last year, we had the highest load factor in Europe in the month of February, but very low yields.  This year we have been seeking the correct balance to maximise revenue. We already see a significant increase in our passenger loads and yields for March onwards.”

Meanwhile, for the 12 months ended 29-Feb-08, the Company carried 3,669,832 passengers, an increase of 28.6%. The load factor in the past 12 months increased by 0.5 ppts and reached 77.1%.
