AirAsia X celebrates 100,000 seat with 5,000 free seats
AirAsia X announced it has sold 100,000 seats valued at approximately RM100 million within five months of operations. AirAsia X is celebrating the 100,000th seat sold by giving away 5,000 seats.

Guests can participate in the four day free seat campaign by booking from 13-Mar-08 to 16-Mar-08 and for travel from 20-Mar-08 to 23-Jun-08

In addition to the 5,000 free seat campaign, AirAsia X is also rewarding the 100,000th guest with 10 free tickets for the next 12 months.

The carrier currently serves two international destinations, Gold Coast in Australia and Hangzhou in China.
AirAsia X commenced its inaugural flight on 02-Nov-07 to Gold Coast, while its Hangzhou inaugural flight commenced on 04-Feb-08.

AirAsia stated the strong ticket sales performance is a result from the carrier’s strategic marketing positioning through its recent low fare campaigns; The Real Deal, Big Sale and X-tra Hot Deals that target first-time travellers.

Meanwhile, the carrier has an initial target of flying 190,000 passengers within 12 months of operations using its Airbus A330 aircraft with a capacity of 315 seats. AirAsia X is expecting the passenger numbers to multiply once the carrier takes delivery of its two new Airbus A330 later this year, which will be deployed to new destinations across Asia.
