Jetstar secures new enterprise agreement with Pilot group |

Prior to the ballot for a new EBA, Jetstar had reached in principle agreement with the Jetstar Pilots Association and the Australian Federation of Air Pilots (AFAP) for the EBA.
Of 456 eligible Jetstar pilots, 413 voted (91%) with 240 voting in support of the Agreement.
Jetstar stated the new Agreement provides higher pay, year-on-year, for the life of the Agreement and a suite of improved benefits for its Pilot Group, including increases in base salary, retention and introduction of a company bonus payment structure.
Further benefits include:
• Bringing forward the increase in the widebody margin from 8 to 14 per cent for Jetstar Pilots for their existing fleet, planned for 30 November 2008 but now 1 January 2008;
• New First Officer categories and increases in Rostered Days Off;
• Credits for Positioning Travel;
• Family friendly benefits including an increase in Parental leave from 52 to 104 weeks to better encourage a return to the workforce for parents and carers;
• Access to performance related financial benefits.
In addition, the Agreement re-introduces the flexibilities of the AWA such as the ability to employ direct entry Captains in for five years.
The new EBA is effective from Mar-08 and will span over five years and is to be lodged with the Workplace Authority.
