IAE V2500 to power Tiger Airways fleet expansion
Tiger Airways has chosen International Aero Engines’ V2500 to power Tiger Airways’ fleet expansion of 20 A320s. The contract is valued at USD580 million.

Announcing the awarding of the contract, Tiger Airways CEO, Tony Davis, said “One of the key strategies behind Tiger Airways’ success in this highly competitive market has been its stringent cost control, and the fuel efficient V2500 fits that requirement perfectly. As we expand our operations into new countries, we look forward to the additional fuel savings that the SelectOneTM build standard will bring us, together with the low and predictable maintenance costs.”

Tiger Airways currently operates a fleet of 12 V2500-powered A320s, with 58 on firm order with deliveries through to 2016.
