Jetstar launches first long haul service

Jetstar launched Melbourne-Bangkok service on 23-Nov-06, the first long-haul service by the Qantas subsidiary, followed by Sydney-Phuket service on 24-Nov-06.

The carrier will launch non-stop Sydney-Ho Chi Minh City on 30-Nov-06 and will launch more international services through 2006 and 2007, as part of Qantas new two brand international strategy. Jetstar will launch to seven international destinations from Australia covering 11 international routes from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Cairns by Sep-07.
