Vueling passenger numbers increase almost 40% in Jan-08; load factor slips 1.7 ppts

Vueling carried a total of 450,707 passengers in Jan-08, representing a 38.6% year-on-year increase. Vueling’s load factor was 58.9%, a 1.7 ppt reduction.
In keeping with what was announced in Dec-07, Vueling’s strategy is to focus on revenue per flight maximisation, even though this could cause a minor reduction in load factor levels. In that regard, the increase in revenue per passenger during Jan-08 has compensated the load factor’s decrease, and this has translated into a revenue per flight level which is above last year’s.
