Jetstar Asia launched services from Singapore to Macau on 2 February 2008, bringing the Macau International Airport family to a total of 15 airlines and 25 routes. Macau is on track to overtake Hong Kong this year in terms of total visitor arrivals, thanks in part to the burgeoning LCC services at Macau Airport.

Executive Director of Macau International Airport Co Ltd (CAM) - Ms. Liu Suning believes that, there is a scope for expansion in the passenger and cargo traffic between the two cities - Macau and Singapore, especially with the effort of the management team from both Jetstar Asia and Macau International Airport. Through the established connections of Macau International Airport to Mainland China and the regional network from Jetstar Asia in Southeast Asia, it provides Macau residents and regional travelers with a wider range of destinations and services.

s development, MIA will continue to optimise the facilities of the airport and create a more favourable air transport environment to cope with the SAR government policy in developing Macau to a truly international city of leisure and entertainment.

Macau Airport will further strengthen cooperation with all partners to enhance safety and overall passenger experience. Also to maintain the existing routes and opening new routes; continue to develop air transport business of different types, from legacy carrier, low-cost carrier, regional aviation, business aviation, etc. At the same time focus more efforts in the development of the long haul routes, to gradually perfect air transportation network.
