Philippine Airlines has brought back a promotional-fare scheme that offers discounts of up to 98% off normal rates for services throughout its domestic network. Dubbed “Seat All You Can,” the promo drops PAL fares to a flat rate of P88 (USD2.20) for a one-way service on Fiesta Class (economy) between Manila and any domestic point.

Covered by the promo are all PAL-operated services between Manila and Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, General Santos, Iloilo, Kalibo, Laoag, Legazpi, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Tacloban, Tagbilaran and Zamboanga.

The promotional rate represents a markdown of nearly 98% from the normal fare for such sectors as Manila-Davao, Manila-Cagayan de Oro and Manila-Zamboanga. It is also over 97% off the normal fare for routes like Manila-Cebu, Manila-Bacolod and Manila-Tacloban.

The special fare is available from 08-Jan-08 and 18-Jan-08, for travel between 01-Feb-08 and 12-Mar-08.

Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific responded, announcing plans to offer P8 (USD0.02 cents) fares on all its domestic destinations and P888 (USD22) seats to Asian destinations. The promotional seat sale will run from 11-Jan-08 and 17-Jan-08, or until the allocated 200,000 seats are sold out.

Cebu Pacific allocated more than 100,000 seats for its international seat sale that includes services from Manila to: Bangkok, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Taipei, Shanghai, Singapore, Xiamen. This is also available for non-stop services from Cebu to: Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taipei and from Davao to Hong Kong and Singapore. This is good for travel from 01-Feb-08 to 31-May-08.

Cebu Pacific also allocated more than 100,000 seats for its domestic destinations. This is good for travel from 01-Feb-08 to 12-Mar-08.

Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Product, said, “We hope that many will take advantage of these low fares and travel to our neighboring Asian countries for the first time. More importantly, we hope to be able to stimulate more tourist arrivals with these low fares.  This is our way of continuing to support the country’s tourism agenda.”
