Another passenger record for Air Berlin: more passengers and improved load factor in Dec-07
The airberlin Group continued on its path to growth in 2007. In total, airberlin (including LTU since 1/2007 and Belair since 11/2007) transported 27.9 passengers, a 10.6% year-on-year increase, thereby marking a new record in its corporate history. Load factor over the Jan-07 to Dec-07 period improved to 77.2%, a 1.6 ppt year-on-year increase.

 

In Dec-07, airberlin (including its subsidiaries LTU and Belair) welcomed 1.9 million passengers, a 16.6% year-on-year increase. Load factor improved to 71.7%, a 3.2 ppt year-on-year increase. For Dec-07, flight revenue per available seat kilometer (ASK) amounted to EUR 4.55 cents, an increase of 2.2% year-on-year. 

In Dec-07, the following German airports recorded exceptional growth for airberlin: Stuttgart (+62.5%), Berlin-Tegel (+55.7%) and Münster-Osnabrück (+44.0%). Outside of Germany, Copenhagen took the lead with an increase of 59.6%, followed by Zurich (+45%) and Helsinki (+42.6%).
