Jetstar to increase fuel surcharges on international services
(c) Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation Premium: Jetstar will increase international fuel surcharges on flights booked on or after 17-Jan-08 in response to record fuel prices. The fuel surcharge on Jetstar domestic services will remain unchanged at AUD19 (including GST).

The fuel surcharge on Jetstar’s trans-Tasman and international long haul services to destinations in Asia and the Pacific will increase by AUD10. Meanwhile, one-way fuel surcharges on trans-Tasman services will increase from AUD45 to AUD55, and from AUD98 to AUD108 on services to Asia and the Pacific.

Jetstar Chief Executive Officer, Alan Joyce, said the increase is part of the Qantas Group’s response to record fuel prices with crude oil recently rising above USD100 a barrel.

Jetstar operates trans-Tasman services from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast to Christchurch, New Zealand, and international services from Australia to Japan, Vietnam, US (Hawaii), Malaysia, Indonesia (Bali), Thailand and Singapore.
