WestJet commences new service to the Caribbean and Mexico
(c) Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation: WestJet on 10-Dec-07 launched the first of nine new seasonal routes to the Caribbean and Mexico, with the departure of the inaugural services to Montego Bay (Jamaica) from Toronto.

"WestJet is thrilled to commence service to six new international sun destinations just in time for our cold Canadian winter," says Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Guest Experience and Marketing. "International sun destinations are a big part of our planned growth for both WestJet and WestJet Vacations. With the addition of Montego Bay, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, St. Lucia, Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan, we are continuing our commitment to fly our guests where they want to go, when they want to get there. With secured aircraft to grow our fleet to 116 Next-Generation 737s by 2013, WestJet plans to fly to over 60 scheduled destinations."
