UB Group plans to launch services to the US by Apr-08
(CAPA) UB Group announced plans to launch services to the US by Apr-08, and confirmed it applied for US Department of Transportation permission to operate services from Bangalore to New York and San Francisco.

The company plans to operate the routes through Kingfisher Airlines or, if local restrictions on international operations are not relaxed via Air Deccan. According to Reuters, Vijay Mallya, Chairman & Managing Director of Kingfisher stated, "If everything goes well, we plan to fly to San Francisco and New York by Apr-08. Air Deccan will be five years old in 2008. If norms for flying abroad are not relaxed, we will fly Air Deccan. Even if the group of ministers does not relax the norms for flying international, no one can stop us. This is our right".

Capt GR Gopinath, Chairman & Managing Director of Air Deccan confirmed the carrier will “help Kingfisher fly abroad.”

The Indian Government is considering relaxing regulations that prevent Indian carriers from operating internationally until they have completed five years of domestically services.
