WestJet adds services to Mazatlan and San Jose del Cabo/Cabo San Lucas
(CAPA) WestJet announced the introduction of seasonal services to two new international destinations in Mexico: Mazatlan from Calgary and Edmonton; and San Jose del Cabo/Cabo San Lucas from Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. These new destinations are part of WestJet's enhanced Winter schedule that also includes the addition of a new seasonal route from Vancouver to Kona, Hawaii.

"Mexico represents the fourth international country for scheduled service," said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Guest Experience and Marketing. "These announcements are part of WestJet's measured expansion plans to fly to over 60 destinations by 2013”.

"Our flights to Hawaii have increased to 21 flights weekly from 14 last Winter and we also have improved schedules for our guests' convenience,” he added.

"In three short years, WestJet has grown to 18 sun destinations offering guests across Canada the opportunity to travel South in the Winter. WestJet also recently announced the addition of three new Caribbean destinations: Montego Bay (Jamaica), Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic) and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic)."

"WestJet is very pleased to have received designation from the Canadian Government to fly scheduled service into these Mexican sun destinations. This decision bodes well for future international destinations and we look forward to working with Transport Canada in the future."
