airberlin and S7 extend their codeshare arrangements Passengers can fly on codeshare flights from Berlin, via Moscow, and on to Irkutsk, Samara, Kazan, Perm, Ufa or Rostov. A brand new destination is the major city of Yekaterinburg in the Urals, which, like all other Russian cities, can be reached via Mos-cow from Düsseldorf, Munich, Frankfurt or Hanover. Flights from Stuttgart to Russia have also been included in the timetable. This therefore marks the first time that all codeshare routes have been integrated in the airlines’ schedule as standard connecting flights.
The codeshare arrangement between airberlin and S7, the largest domestic Russian airline, has been in place since the start of 2009. The passenger volume has increased steadily within two years. During this period the increase in passengers using the ser-vice between the capital cities of Moscow and Berlin has been around 75 per cent. The proportion of transfer passengers has now exceeded 30 per cent.
Customers of both airlines can collect and redeem frequent flyer miles on any routes operated by the partner airline. Tickets can be booked online via airberlin.com, by calling the airline’s Service Centre (tel. 01805 – 737 800; € 0.14/min. from a German landline, mobile phone charges not exceeding € 0.42/min.), as well as through travel agencies.
