AWAS delivers first of five planned 737-800s to GOL
Dublin based aircraft lessor, AWAS, announced today that it delivered a Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft to GOL, the successful Brazilian-based low-cost airline.
This is the first of five planned deliveries to GOL through early 2013. In March of this year GOL and AWAS entered into a purchase and lease back agreement for 5 Boeing 737-800s that the carrier had previously ordered directly from the manufacturer.
“The delivery of this 737-800 is very important for GOL,” said Constantino Oliveira Jr, CEO and Founder, GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes SA. “This is our first aircraft featuring the Boeing Sky Interior and therefore it marks an important step for our fleet upgrade and product enhancement program. The complete solution that AWAS brought to us offered greater flexibility to move these plans ahead at the rapid pace we desired.”
