Ryanair’s new Doncaster route is Portugal bound The low fare airline has added Faro to its offering from Doncaster Sheffield with the first flight taking off on March 29 2011.
Airport bosses were thrilled to announce the twice weekly service which is the second new Ryanair route launch in as many months following the successful launch of Tenerife in February. Nick Smillie, Aviation Sales Director for Peel Airports, said: “We are delighted that our passengers who are looking for an early summer break can again benefit from low cost flights to Faro.
“The convenience of leaving from South Yorkshire combined with great value, low cost fares is another worthwhile reason to fly local.”
The Faro route will operate from Doncaster Sheffield on Tuesdays and Saturdays through the summer season until late October.
Nick added: “Our Alicante route is incredibly popular and we anticipate that Faro will prove to be just as successful as we continue to build upon our growth as an airport serving South Yorkshire and the wider region.”
Ryanair's Maria Macken added, "Ryanair is delighted to welcome passengers on board its new twice weekly service from Doncaster to Faro, gateway to the Algarve region in Southern Portugal, famous for its mix of beautiful coastline, sleepy fishing villages and lush golf courses.
