Nashville International Airport: Southwest Airlines announces seasonal service changes
Southwest Airlines has informed the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority that it will adjust its flight schedule for the spring of 2011, including seasonally adding service to several new markets: Providence and Seattle.

The first set of changes, taking effect in March, will add one flight each to Nashville International’s existing markets in Denver, Jacksonville, Las Vegas and Chicago.

At the end of April, BNA will seasonally open up four new markets in San Diego, Kansas City, Providence and Seattle, by adding a flight to each of these cities. Southwest will also reduce the number of flights to Phoenix and Ft. Myers.

The following seasonal changes effective from March 12 to April 25, 2011, add one flight to each of the following markets, for a total of 78 overall flights daily:

  • Nashville to Denver (DIA) – From 3 flights to 4
  • Nashville to Jacksonville (JAX) – From 3 to 4
  • Nashville to Las Vegas (LAS) – From 3 to 4
  • Nashville to Chicago - Midway (MDW) – From 7 to 8

The service changes in effect from April 26 to June 3, 2011, for a total of 80 overall flights daily, are:

  • Nashville to Providence (PVD) – From no flights to 1
  • Nashville to Seattle (SEA) – From no flights to 1
  • Nashville to San Diego (SAN) – From 1 to 2
  • Nashville to Kansas City (MCI) – From 3 flights to 4
  • Nashville to Phoenix (PHX) – Down from 3 flights to 2
  • Nashville to Ft. Myers (RSW) – Down from 1 flight to none
