AirTran Airways and IHG's Priority Club Rewards announce new partnership

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), and IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) (NYSE: IHG), the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms, today announced a partnership that will offer benefits to members of their loyalty programs, A+ Rewards and Priority Club® Rewards.
IHG is AirTran's first and only global hotel partner to offer A+ Rewards credits for hotel stays at any one of its 4,500 hotels worldwide including InterContinental®, Crowne Plaza®, Hotel Indigo®, Holiday Inn®, Holiday Express®, Holiday Inn® Club Vacations, Staybridge® Suites and Candlewood® Suites.
"We selected IHG to be AirTran Airways' preferred hotel partner because of its extensive portfolio of well-known brands," said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of marketing and sales for AirTran Airways. "Now our frequent fliers can get a bonus for flying and staying whether it's for business or leisure travel."
Effective Oct. 6, 2010, when A+ Rewards members join Priority Club® and designate their earning preference accordingly, members will earn a 1/2 A+ Rewards credit for every qualified IHG hotel stay. Priority Club® members can redeem 10,000 Priority Club points for two A+ Rewards credits.
