Jetstar launches Sydney-Brisbane services

(CAPA) Jetstar announced plans to launch twice-daily Sydney-Brisbane services on 04-Dec-07. The airline is offering introductory fares of AUD39, available until 25-Jun-07, for travel between 04-Dec-07 and 13-Dec-07, and 22-Jan-07 and 13-Mar-08.

This follows Jetstar’s announcement on 22-Jun-07 that it will base two additional A320s at Gold Coast Airport from 22-Dec-07, to boost capacity on Gold Coast the Melbourne and Sydney routes. Jetstar will operate an additional two daily Melbourne-Gold Coast services, and an additional daily Sydney-Gold Coast service. 

These moves by Jetstar is seen to be in anticipation for Tiger Airways entry into the Australian domestic market later this year. Tiger Airways, meanwhile, ordered up to 50 additional A320s for use in its upcoming Australian domestic market launch and its regional South East Asia network.
