CEB cuts Brunei, Osaka fares in half

One of Asia’s fastest growing airlines, Cebu Pacific (CEB) promotes Brunei, Osaka and several international and domestic destinations in a seat sale from July 7-9, 2010, for travel from August 1 to October 31, 2010.

CEB’s trademark low fares from Manila to Brunei become 48% less with a P1,499 ‘Go Lite’ seat sale, while Manila-Osaka fares are 50% less with a P2,999 ‘Go’ seat sale. Brunei is one of the airline’s newest international destinations aside from Beijing, and will be launched on August 21, 2010.

Its Osaka flights, on the other hand, achieved a 62% year-on-year growth, based on January-May passenger figures for 2009 and 2010. It maintains its thrice weekly schedule, utilizing CEB’s aircraft fleet, which is one of the youngest in Asia.

Meanwhile, P599 ‘Go Lite’ seats are up for grabs for flights from Manila to Bacolod, Coron (Busuanga), Iloilo, San Jose (Mindoro), Legazpi, Naga and Virac, and vice versa. The ‘Go Lite’ seat sale fare of P999 is also available for flights from Manila to Boracay (Caticlan), Kalibo or Puerto Princesa, and vice versa.

‘Go Lite’ low fares to the following international routes are also available: P999 for Manila-Kota Kinabalu flights, P1,999 for Cebu-Hong Kong and Cebu-Singapore flights, and P2,499 for Cebu-Busan and Cebu-Incheon flights.

Those with check-in luggage will just add P100 to ‘Go Lite’ fares upon booking.

“We are very happy with the success of our Manila-Osaka route, and are hoping to promote both Osaka and Brunei further to our business and leisure travelers,” said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

“CEB is also looking into developing its Cebu hub further for more international routes. In the meantime, we hope we can encourage even more passengers to take direct flights to and from Cebu with this seat sale,” she added.

Based on Civil Aeronautics Board data, CEB overtook Philippine Airline’s passenger numbers in the first quarter of 2010, making it the largest airline in the Philippines. CEB flies to the most ASEAN destinations and routes from the Philippines, and is the only low-cost carrier to fly to all the major North Asian countries of Japan, South Korea and China.
