Jetstar to codeshare on Qantas services to China
Qantas applied to the Australian Air Services Commission seeking an allocation of an additional 1670 seats per week on Australia-China services and for Jetstar to codeshare on Qantas operated services to China.

Qantas recently announced plans to launch Melbourne-Shanghai service in Mar-08 and also plans to add a fifth weekly Sydney-Shanghai frequency in Aug-07. In addition to its Shanghai services, Qantas operates to Beijing from Sydney and to Hong Kong from Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.

Jetstar has reportedly had its allocation of B787s to be deployed for international services increased from 12 to 15 by Qantas. Jetstar was originally to be allocated ten B787s, to replace its existing long-haul fleet of six A330-200s. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery from Aug-08.
