SkyEurope founder and CEO, Christian Mandl, hands over operational control

SkyEurope Holding AG announced that in order to focus on strategic business development activities, Christian Mandl will continue to serve as Chairman & CEO of SkyEurope Holding AG, while the day-to-day management of the Slovak operating subsidiary will be handed over to Jason Bitter, currently Deputy CEO, who will become CEO of the daughter company SkyEurope Airlines.
Since the SkyEurope Group was launched, founder Christian Mandl has been the CEO of both the publicly-listed Austrian holding company and of the Slovak operating subsidiary.
By taking a step back from operational management, Christian Mandl will be able to focus on strategic projects for SkyEurope, in particular the planned entry into the Russian market and the set up of an aircraft leasing entity within the Group.
In addition, he will remain involved in Investor Relations and Corporate Communications.
Announcing this change, Christian Mandl stated: “it is a natural evolution for an entrepreneur to pass on day-to-day management to a professional team, and to focus on strategic business development. I will invest my energy into projects that will create value for the Company, its people and its shareholders.”
Effective from June 2007, the Board of Directors of SkyEurope Holding AG will consist of: Christian Mandl, Chairman & CEO; Nick Manoudakis, Chief Financial Officer and Jason Bitter, Chief Operating Officer.
The Board of Directors of the Slovak subsidiary SkyEurope Airlines, will consist of: Jason Bitter, CEO & Chief Operating Officer; Nick Manoudakis, Chief Financial Officer; Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer and Klaus Niedl, Chief
Human Resources Officer.
