Flybe shows commitment to Birmingham by upping Scottish flights

Flybe announces that - following the apparent withdrawal from January 29th of winter services between Birmingham and Glasgow by low cost carrier bmibaby - it has significantly increased frequency on this key route to cover the resulting shortfall with seats available now for booking at www.flybe.com.

The gap that has suddenly opened up and obviously hit passengers hard wishing to travel on this popular route has seen Flybe inundated with increased demand for seats to and from Birmingham and Glasgow in recent days.

Should the demise of bmibaby’s services on this route eventually turn out to be one that is permanent and not just a temporary cost-cutting move, it would not be the first time that Flybe has been left holding the baby and stepped in to rescue the day for regional passengers.

Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer says: “Flybe’s overriding priority is keeping Britain on the move. While other airlines unfortunately continue to retrench and cut yet more services, we remain committed to filling as many of these abandoned routes as possible so that business and leisure travellers can still have a wide choice of affordable and convenient options to key destinations.
