Allegiant Air announces new, nonstop air service between Wichita and Phoenix-Mesa
Wichita, Kansas lands another hole-in-one with Allegiant Air as the low-cost airline today announces it will offer nonstop service to Phoenix-Mesa from Wichita beginning Nov. 20. The carrier celebrates the convenient new service to Arizona with introductory fares as low as $59.99* each way.

"We are extremely pleased to again expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service in the Wichita community," Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., president, CEO of Allegiant Air, said. "This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we link South Central Kansas with the endless sun, resorts and golf found in Arizona."

The self-proclaimed "Official Airline for Sunshine" will launch the new scheduled service from Wichita Mid-Continent Airport to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport with two flights weekly on Monday and Friday. Service will begin Nov. 20 with flights departing Wichita at 12:25 p.m. arriving in Phoenix-Mesa at 1:45 p.m. Flights leaving Phoenix-Mesa will depart at 8:35 a.m. arriving in Wichita at 11:45 a.m. (all flight times are local.) Allegiant inaugurated low-cost, nonstop service to Las Vegas Feb. 27, 2003 and flights to Los Angeles May 23, 2009.

The airline commented market research and input from local community leaders indicate the Wichita community will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Phoenix-Mesa. Allegiant will utilize 150-seat, MD-80 series, jet-aircraft on the route.

"We are confident passengers will find the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport convenient to use, and will love Allegiant's low fares and comfortable 150-seat MD-80 aircraft on this route. Allegiant is to be commended for recognizing our need for this service and we are particularly pleased this will be available before the holidays."

Allegiant partners with more than 40 resorts in Arizona, including hotels in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Sedona and air/hotel packages are available for as low as $230.99*. (Price is per person, based on three-night hotel stay at the Best Western Inn of Tempe, double occupancy and reflects a Friday arrival and Monday departure. Travel must be completed by Dec. 30, 2009.) The company also provides low-cost car rental service through its partnership with Alamo Rent a Car.

Allegiant's $59.99* one-way introductory fare is limited, must be purchased by Oct. 21, 2009 and is valid for travel through Feb. 10, 2010. Introductory fares are not available on all flights. After the introductory fare period, regular one-way fares on the route start as low as $79.99 one-way.
