Ryanair launches its latest route to Spain from LJLA
Today, low-cost airline, Ryanair celebrated its inaugural flight from Liverpool to Alicante, on the East Coast of Spain.

To mark the occasion, a family from Anglesey, North Wales were surprised at check-in when Airport staff and a representative from Ryanair informed them that they were the first passengers to check-in on Ryanair’s new service to Alicante for which they received two complimentary flights from Liverpool to one of Ryanair’s other Spanish destinations; Santiago situated on the West Coast of Spain.

Fellow passengers onboard this flight were also presented with a certificate which stated that they were onboard Ryanair’s first flight from Liverpool to Alicante.

Robin Tudor, General Manager, Corporate and Community Affairs for John Lennon Airport, said: “Ryanair’s new route to Alicante is already proving to be a huge hit with passengers from all over the North West. It’s now the beginning of the holiday season and traditionally this destination has always been a popular destination and we expect that this service will certainly strengthen Liverpool’s links with the Costa Blanca.”

Ryanair’s UK Sales and Marketing Executive, Elaine Duff, said: “We are proud once more to extend Ryanair’s route network by launching today’s new service from Liverpool to Alicante. We presented flight certificates this morning to each of our passengers welcoming them on board this first service.
