Eleven new Ryanair routes take off at Bristol International
Two new aircraft double size of airline’s South West baseRyanair crew and check in staff at Bristol International teamed up today (3-Jul-2009) to launch eleven new routes from the airport.

Bristol-based Charlotte Oliver, star of Ryanair’s charity calendar for 2009, led the way as the team lined up alongside one of two new Boeing 737-800s (joining two similar aircraft already based at Bristol International).  Each of the eleven Ryanair staff donned a t-shirt emblazoned with the name of a new destination now served by the airline.

Ryanair operates a total of 30 routes from Bristol to 13 different countries.  New routes include the Spanish city of Seville, Malta, four more French destinations and three Italian cities.

Ryanair’s Sales and Marketing Executive (UK and Ireland), Maria Macken,  said:

“This investment will bring the total number of planes at Bristol to four in an investment worth over $280 million.

“To celebrate the launch of eleven new routes, we are releasing one million £6 seats for travel across our European network.  These can be booked at www.ryanair.com before midnight on Sunday 5th July.”

Aviation Director at Bristol International Airport,  Shaun Browne, said:“The launch of 11 new routes this week is exciting news for South West travellers.  Routes such as Perpignan and Rimini provide opportunities for leisure passengers to explore new destinations, while services to Seville and Montpellier will be well used by the region’s business community.”
