Air Berlin remains the top airline in Majorca
Air Berlin has improved its market position and is well ahead of all other competitors at the airport of Palma de Mallorca. Already every third passenger embarking or disembarking in Palma de Mallorca uses an Air Berlin aircraft.

The German airline accounts for more than 36 per cent of passenger volume at the Spanish airport. The second largest airline there is Air Europe with a share of 17.9 per cent, and the third largest carrier is Iberia with 9.71 per cent. Easy jet, the UK airline, has a share of 5.87 per cent. These are the results of the airport’s statistics for January.

Last year Air Berlin carried 5,067,479 passengers from and to Majorca. This corresponds to a growth of 11.88 per cent when compared to the figures for the previous year.

The second largest German airline operates a hub in Palma with continuation flights to 17 destinations on the Spanish mainland, the neighbouring Balearic islands and in Portugal. In Germany the company operates flights from 17 airports to the Balearic island. Other feeder flights come from London, Zurich, Amsterdam, Milan-Bergamo, and from May onwards also from Copenhagen. NIKI, the partner airline, connects Vienna, Linz, Salzburg and Graz to Air Berlin's hub on Majorca.

Air Berlin is the largest foreign airline on the Spanish market as a whole.
