AirAsia’s free seats for new Singapore Langkawi and Penang-Singapore routes
AirAsia, is once more offering deals to its guests, by offering free seats as introduction to its two new routes launched Singapore-Langkawi and Penang-Singapore

Una vez más, AirAsia presenta a sus clientes asientos gratiutos como lanzamiento de sus dos nuevas rutas: Singapore-Langkawi y Penang-Singapore.

These new routes will simultaneously commence on 01-Jun-09 with daily services. The free seats deals are available online via AirAsia’s website. Booking period is from 27-Apr-09 to 03-May-09 for travel between 01-Jun-09 and 31-Jan-10.

Alongside the new routes, the airline is increasing its frequency from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, bringing the total frequency to 8 direct daily flights from the current 7. The added frequency will also commence operations on 01-Jun-09, with free seats on offer to mark its initiation. The free seats offer is also available online with similar booking and travel period as the new routes above.

AirAsia Regional Head of Commercial, Kathleen Tan explained “By opening up these routes, we are looking forward to stimulate more travel and tourism activities which will definitely benefit the country's economy. Langkawi is a beautiful island with many interesting spots to visit and activities to indulge in, while Penang is a destination well known for its gastronomic delights and diverse culture. Direct flight to these islands will offer more choices in holiday destinations for the Singaporean public, and our low fares will definitely be the utmost reason for them to visit new locations in Malaysia.

We always remain bullish that our low fares will help to stimulate and induce new travel demand, and will help boost tourism potential on both ends.

“Our Kuala Lumpur - Singapore route on the other hand, received tremendous response ever since it was first introduced, with an average load factor of 80 percent. Due to the overwhelming demand from our guests, we decided to increase the frequency from 7 to 8 flights daily. This is indeed a bold move on our part, but we are confident that it will be met with enthusiasm by our guests and we can expect to see excellent passenger loads.

The introduction of the new routes further enhances connectivity from the republic to Malaysia. For Singaporean travelers, Langkawi and Penang are new interesting destinations available for their holiday plans besides other Malaysian destinations (Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Kuching) and regional destinations in Thailand (Bangkok, Phuket) and Indonesia (Bali, Bandung, Jakarta, Pekanbaru, Yogyakarta).
