Jetstar Asia to commence a daily flight to Penang
From 01-Oct-09 Jetstar A320 services on the Singapore-Penang* route will then further expand to double daily.

The launch of Jetstar’s latest Malaysian service from 01-Jul-09 will bring Jetstar Asia’s flights between Singapore and Malaysia to up to 88 weekly services, making Malaysia the biggest outbound market for the carrier.

Jetstar Asia will wet lease a Jetstar Australia aircraft when the second daily Singapore-Penang* return service is introduced.

In celebration of the launch of Penang services, Jetstar is offering 88,000 seats to all Malaysia destinations which includes Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Penang*. The sale will begin at 00.01 am 27-Apr-09 to midnight 29-Apr-09 and is available for travel between 01-July-09 and 25-Mar-10. Excluding prevailing taxes of SGD28 (airport) per way. Admin and insurance charges range from SGD7 to SGD17 per sector; subject to regulatory trade approval.

CEO, Jetstar Asia Ms. Chong Phit Lian explained  “In the past, Singaporeans travelling to Penang had to travel on the road for nine hours or pay high air fares. But with the addition of Penang to our network and Jetstar’s all day, every day low fares, Singaporeans can now head to Penang in under two hours and enjoy one of Malaysia’s best holiday destinations spending more at their destination and less on their journey.

 Jetstar Asia’s ‘Price Beat Guarantee’ is applicable for flights to Penang*. This means that if customers can find another published online fare that is lower than the lowest available fare on Jetstar.com (not including JetFlex fare), Jetstar Asia should be notified of the lower fare via its 24-hour call centre at 800-6167-017.

Once the fare is verified, Jetstar Asia will beat the lower fare by 10% when the reservation is made immediately via the call centre. Ms Chong added, “Malaysia has and will always be a popular holiday destination to Singaporeans. We hope to continue to expand our offering between Singapore and Malaysia with greater accessibility to low fare travel.”
