EasyJet announces Starbucks VIA Ready Brew to be available on flights
Starbucks announced (21-Apr-09) that customers of easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, will be able to purchase Starbucks VIA Ready Brew on flights out of UK Newcastle, Stansted, Gatwick airports, as well as, Madrid airport, beginning 01-May.

 

For the first time, easyJet customers will be able to purchase a great cup of Starbucks coffee while truly on-the-go. Starbucks VIA Ready Brew is naturally-roasted coffee, with no by-products giving coffee lovers the rich flavor they expect from brewed Starbucks coffee, in an instant. The convenient packet of instant and micro-ground beans makes coffee on-the-go a simple and delicious experience. Starbucks VIA is Shared Planet verified, meaning that the coffee comes from farmers and suppliers who follow the company’s exacting sourcing guidelines.
 
easyJet’s In-Flight Category Manager, Rob Pickering, said: “This is a significant step forward for the easyJet in-flight Product range, it coincides at the exciting time when our fresh food range has been transformed to suit local country markets. By serving Starbucks on board, our passengers will never need to be without great coffee or hot drinks.”
 
Director of Business Alliances & Licensing, Starbucks UK & Ireland, Rupert Lawrie commented: “Offering Starbucks VIA Ready Brew to easyJet passengers provides us with a great opportunity to ensure new and existing Starbucks customers get the chance to experience high quality coffee in an instant.”
 
In addition to Starbucks VIA, easyJet customers will also be able to purchase a selection of four Tazo teas (English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Refresh and Passion varieties) and Starbucks Gourmet Hot Cocoa.
