Jetstar will add a third daily Singapore-Bangkok* service as the Jetstar Group expands its Singapore presence bringing more low fares to consumers between the two Asian capitals.
The new daily A320 return flight commencing 01-Oct-09* is an incremental service and will grow Jetstar’s existing Singapore-Bangkok* offering from twice to three times daily.
Jetstar’s growth on the Singapore-Bangkok* route comes as a direct result of the Jetstar Group’s renewed focus on leveraging synergies and Jetstar Group assets between the Jetstar operation in Australia and the Singapore based Jetstar Asia/Valuair operation.
Jetstar Chief Executive Officer Bruce Buchanan explained customers would be the beneficiary of airlines in the Jetstar Group working more closely together.
“Our proposed greater alignment between Jetstar, Jetstar Asia and Valuair is already providing new flying opportunities for our customers to access more low fares to more places in the region,” Mr Buchanan said.
“This new daily Singapore-Bangkok* service will be the first of future planned growth in Jetstar Group low fare services into and across Asia through better alignment of our airline businesses.”
Jetstar Asia and Valuair Chief Executive Officer Ms Chong Phit Lian announced the additional daily service to the Thai capital would build a more robust schedule between Singapore and Bangkok for both leisure and business flyers. “The new daily service allows us to better meet existing demand and future growth on this air market,” Ms Chong said.
“The Jetstar Group of Airlines is continuing to seek out ways of expanding our Singapore flying hub to offer more low fares, more often, to more destinations.”
