The airline will introduce a new route to Grenoble from all four of its UK bases. Flights will operate twice a week from East Midlands, Birmingham International and Cardiff Airport, plus once a week from Manchester
In addition, as a result of strong bookings on the recently launched summer route from Manchester to Toulouse, bmibaby will continue to operate this new service during the winter months. bmibaby is the only low cost carrier to offer this route from Manchester Airport.
bmibaby will also launch a new route from Belfast International Airport to Prague, and the airline will be the only low cost airline offering direct flights to Prague from this airport.
In total bmibaby will fly to 19 European destinations for winter: Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belfast International, Cork, Edinburgh, Faro, Geneva, Glasgow International, Grenoble, Ireland West Knock, Jersey, Paris (CDG), Malaga, Murcia, Nice, Palma, Prague and Toulouse. Flights are available for travel from 25-Oct-09 until 28-Mar-2010.
Managing director, bmibaby, Crawford Rix, said:
“We are pleased to launch our winter flying programme today with brand new routes from the regions. For the first time we will be flying to Grenoble from our four UK bases. Grenoble is located in the very centre of the Alps and will be an extremely popular destination for those looking for a winter snow holiday. We expect to carry over 28,700 passengers to and from Grenoble over the winter months.
“Due to the success of our new summer route from Manchester to Toulouse we are pleased to announce that this service will also be operated in the winter months. bmibaby is the only low cost carrier to offer this route from Manchester Airport and we believe that it will continue to be popular throughout the winter especially as the city is perfectly located to access Andorra, a great place to ski.
“We have seen strong early bookings for summer 2009 as people are keen to save money by booking early. We believe this trend will continue for the winter season as people want to secure a great deal and their ideal dates of travel.”
