Air Berlin reports revenue increase in Feb-09
Air Berlin was able to increase its revenue per available seat kilometre for Feb-09, with revenue rising by 12% to 5.28 Eurocents. In comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year, the number of passengers transported decreased from 1,874,177 to 1,714,240 (-8.5%), in part due to a capacity reduction of 6.3%.

For the same period, fleet capacity utilization decreased from 72.5 to 70.8%, i.e. a decrease of 1.7 percentage points. One reason for the decline in the number of passengers for Feb-09 is that the corresponding month of the previous year counted an extra day.

For the period from Jan-09 to Feb-09, Air Berlin welcomed a total of 3,416,020 passengers on board, i.e. 6.6% less than in the corresponding period of the previous year (2008: 3,655,733 passengers). Fleet capacity utilization decreased by 0.7 percentage points to 70.1%.
