Cebu Pacific removes surcharges from its Manila-Osaka, Japan route

Cebu Pacific (CEB) has secured (05-Mar-09) the approval of Japan Civil Aviation Board to completely remove surcharges for its Manila-Osaka route. CEB is currently the only airline granted such a leeway, which will result in a fare reduction its Manila-Osaka fare by 46%.
CEB VP for marketing and distribution, Candice Iyog said, “We asked for the removal of the surcharges to make travel more affordable especially in these challenging times. This will also help us stimulate travel because passengers can now see the real out of pocket cost paid to CEB.”
To mark this milestone, CEB is offering a promotional fare of PHP3,999 one-way for its Manila-Osaka service starting today until 10-Mar-09 and is good for travel from 31-May to 29-Oct. Passengers will just pay for applicable government taxes.
After the seat sale, the lowest year-round ‘Go’ fare to Osaka starts from PHP4,999. This is a price cut of 40% from the current fares offered by other airlines.
Meanwhile, CEB is also offering a PHP788 promotional ‘Go Lite’ fare for its services from Manila to Davao, Dipolog and Zamboanga that will run from 05-Mar until 07-Mar-09 and is valid for travel from 01-Apr to 31-Jul.
