Jetstar eliminates all fuel surcharges
Jetstar announced (12-Feb-09) it will adjust pricing across its international network including the full removal of fuel surcharges on trans Tasman, international short and long haul A330-200* services in Australia and New Zealand in response to lower oil and jet fuel prices.

Effective from midnight 12-Feb-09 Jetstar will remove its existing AUD25 fuel surcharge on trans Tasman services, AUD35 surcharge on its short haul Asian services and AUD68 surcharge on international long haul services.

The announcement follows the removal from 01-Jan-09 of all domestic fuel surcharges by Jetstar and Qantas.

Jetstar Chief Executive Officer Bruce Buchanan said the airline’s all inclusive fares would continue to present the lowest price across all the markets it served domestically and internationally, backed up by the carrier’s ‘Price Beat Guarantee’.

Mr Buchanan said, “The removal of international fuel surcharges will allow flexibility to continuously deliver Jetstar’s low fares. All our fares are covered by our Price Beat Guarantee in which we will beat any fare on the same route at a similar time with another carrier by 10% should it be lower than the advertised fare on Jetstar.com.”
