Hainan Airlines and Air Berlin to offer codeshare flights
Air Berlin is extending its long-range services and will again be offering flights to China in time for the Chinese New Year. This has been made possible by their co-operation with Hainan Airlines. Both companies have agreed that from 25-Jan-09 they will jointly market flights between Berlin and Beijing.

Hainan has been offering this service since Sep-08 and operates up to three flights a week to the Middle Kingdom. Air Berlin has arranged connecting flights from Germany (Düsseldorf, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Cologne, Munich, Münster-Osnabrück, Nuremberg, Stuttgart), Austria (Vienna) and Switzerland (Zurich).

The code-share flights are sold on a reciprocal basis and operated under the relevant airline’s own flight number. Members of the frequent flyer schemes operated by Air Berlin and Hainan Airlines have been able to collect and redeem miles from both route networks since Nov-08. The code-share flights are now available for booking.
