Air Berlin receives approval for CAT III-B landings with Boeing 737
Air Berlin is the first airline in Europe that will be carrying out CAT III-B approaches with its Boeing 737NG aircraft. This means that from now on landings will be possible when visibility in fog is down to just 75m.

Where aircraft previously had to be diverted to other airports, the Boeings operated by Air Berlin will now be able to make their approach even under such adverse weather conditions.

Air Berlin’s fleet of 40 Boeing aircraft has been approved by the LBA (Federal Office of Civil Aviation) for instrument landings in what is currently the highest category.
